Faux Real: The Black Market of Counterfeit Luxury

Counterfeiting has become the black market crime of the 21st century. But behind the seemingly innocent facade of a trendy handbag lies a tragic price. A $600 billion dollar world, that every year profits child labor, drug trafficking, and terrorism. Faux Real is an eye opening photo mockumentary, inviting you inside the secret rooms of domestic "purse parties" to discover the desperate connoisseurs of the 'living room' phenomenon.
Is your status worth the faux price?

Art Shanty

I finally got my art shanty project done, but couldn't have picked a worse day. The wind was blowing so hard that my project kept falling apart and I wasn't able to frame the shanties as I had envisioned. My poor model and I froze our asses off. Hopefully we can laugh about it some day.

Albert Einstein

When I think of Einstein I think of one of his deadliest inventions, the atomic bomb. So I decided to recreate his face out of a pile of ashes.

Nama Rococo

I've always been attracted too traditional Chinese designs and Art Nouveau, especially when it comes to patterns. I love how this young wallpaper designer expresses her color palette choices. "Sound is form, tone is color. We take flowing, lively shapes and knock them curiously off kilter. Colors, luminous and rich are made to dance across the paper and into the living space."

Ryan McGinness

What inspires me most about Ryan's work is the fluidity with which he moves from medium to medium and context to context. He has a great understanding of marketing whether its on a skateboard or for retail.
